1044sq.ft.   The first Black Forest log cabin was built in Bonners Ferry, Idaho in the setting of a stand of hemlock and cedar trees, inspiring the name .  Also helping to inspire that name was our Amish craftsman heritage, some of which traces back to the Black Forest region of southwest Germany .

1584sq.ft. Columbia Falls, Montana is home to this uniquely styled log home with its high, steep roof and expanse of glass overlooking enormous mountain ranges and the tall peaks of Glacier National Park . Perhaps the Swiss style log lodges of the park inspired its design.

  As a matter of interest, Glacier Park is home to some of the most unique log homes and log lodges which were built in the early 1900's when the railroads were trying to attract tourists and development to this most beautiful part of Northwestern Montana.

We are happy to report that a tribe of Kootenai Indians lives on their own reservation on the banks of the Kootenai near Bonners Ferry, Idaho . As far as we are concerned, they were badly mistreated and they deserve our friendship going forward.
